MS. ETHEL L. DAVIS, age 71, daughter of the late John Henry and Virgie Evans Davis, “Caddy,” was born November 7, 1946 in LaCrosse, VA and departed this life February 16, 2018 in Harlem, NY.

At an early age she was baptized and joined Pleasant Hill RZUA Church.  She was a 1965 graduate of the former East End High School.  She later attended Touro College in 1978 and received a degree from Barton School for Medical/Dental Office Assistant in 1980.

Ethel attended Elemdorf Reformed Church from 1975 to 1990 where she was a member of the Usher Board.

She was employed at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Nurse Technician for the burn unit from 1980 until her retirement in 1993.  During her retirement Ethel furthered her education and was awarded a diploma in Legal Assistant Studies in 1995.

Ethel was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was very active in the church, community, and at family gatherings.  She taught bible studies, always supportive of others, and gave you powerful words of wisdom to live by.

Ethel leaves to mourn a son- Bruce Davis; daughter- Cleopatra Johnson; two grandsons- Jerome Branch and Meleke Osburne; three brothers- Richard, Charlie and Jimmy Davis; four sisters- Jennie Tanksley, Mary Middleton, Gertrude and Catherine Whitehead; best friend- Dorothy Hayes; Godson- Sherman Hayes, Goddaughter- Andreana Hayes, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
