Edward Eugene Blake
February 25, 1949 - February 13, 2018

Columbus, GA- Edward Eugene Blake 68, of Columbus, Georgia departed this life February 23, 2018 at Kindred Hospice @ Franciscan Woods in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be 12:00PM Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Chapel at Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC, 1605 3rd Avenue, Columbus, Phone: 706-327-9293. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft Mitchell, AL. Visitation will be today, Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 1:00PM-6:00PM at the funeral home. Mr. Blake was born February 25, 1949, to the late Hench and Jonnella Blake in West Helen, Arkansas. He met and married Willie Mae Holmes-Blake on August 8, 1976. To this union, 4 children were born: Stephanie, Edward Jr., Regina, and Courtney. Edward Eugene Blake was both a United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. He employed by Greyhound Bus Lines as a driver for many years. Later he served in managerial role. He then worked with Waggoner Van Line in a managerial role until his health would not allow him to continue his employment. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hench and Jonnella Blake; and one sister: Odessa Blake. Edward Eugene Blake leaves to cherish his memories and continue his legacy: five (5) children; Stephanie D. Holmes, Edwards E. Blake Jr, Regina N. Blake, Courtney N. Walker (Jarrell), and Marcus E. Blake; a brother Robert Blake (Margie), Sister: Nancy O. Woodall; six (6) grandchildren; Jasmine Holmes, Taleya & Aleya Griffin (twins), Demarion Blake, Brooke Jackson and Jru Avery Walker residing in the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, and Mississippi; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
