Mrs. Virginia Lurlean Scisney, 91, died on February 21, 2018 at Eagle Valley Meadows in Indianapolis, IN.  

Mrs. Scisney was a native of Madisonville, KY and the daughter of the late Made and Lucy Scisney.  She was a retired housekeeper at Regional Medical Center of Madisonville and worked as a nannie to Dr. Stephanie Trover.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Williams and Leo Scisney and three sisters, Mary C. Smith, Anna R. Wilson and Ruby Hendrix. 

Survivors include eight sons, James W. Smith of Princeton, KY; James Gillum of Earlington, KY, Rev. H. A. Suggs, III (Earlene) of Earlington, KY, Ellis D. Scisney of Earlington, KY, Glen Scisney (Malishia) of Madisonville, KY, Reginald Scisney of Earlington, KY, Neal Scisney (Angela) of Madisonville, KY, and Minister William Scisney (Cheryl) of Indianapolis, IN; four daughters, Mary L. Smith of Louisville, KY, Minnie Moore (Albert) of Wilmington, NC, Jaccqueline Scisney of Madisonville, KY and Sharon Foster Ndiaye (Papa) of Indianapolis, IN; a special daughter, Shirley Minor of Madisonville, KY; one brother, James Scisney (Grace) of Indianapolis, IN; one sister-in-law, Maureen Scisney of Madisonville, KY; 31 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services were held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY.

Hayes, Watts & Percell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
