Rev. Charlie Edward Stewart, 72, of Silver Creek, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi.  He was the son of the late Edward and Hautie Stewart in Lawrence County, Mississippi.  He was a member of China Lee M. B. Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi where he served as Junior Deacon and BTU President.  

He was a former teacher with the Lawrence County Public School District for over 34 years.  He served in pastoral duty for over 30 years.  Serving as pastor of St. James Church, Oma, Mississippi, South Springhill Church, Monticello, Mississippi, Harmony Baptist Church, Columbia, Mississippi and J. E. Johnson Church of the Nazarene, Prentiss, Mississippi.  He was a member of Copiah Ministerial Alliance and NAACP.  

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2018 at China Lee M. B. Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi at 11am.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by: wife, Mary Stewart of Silver Creek, Mississippi and daughter, Vanessa Dipasquale of Laurel, Maryland.

Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-5pm, family hour, 6-8pm at China Lee M. B. Church and visitation Saturday, 10-11am at the church.

    I am so sorry to hear about Mr Stewart. He was a gentle soft spoken man. Ilove to hear him preach. He not only preached he taught and I loved tht about him. Im sure he will be truly missed. I will keep you, his family in my prayers!
