Sister Dorothy Jean Wilson was born July 9, 1945 in Gaston County.  She was the daughter of the late Adam Jr. and Rosie Sanders.  She departed this life on February 22, 2018 at CMC Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, North Carolina.

She was raised in the church singing at an early age from the Children Choir to the Young Adult Choir.  Over the years, she was a faithful member of the Morning Glory Jubilee Gospel Chorus.  She was also a member of the Macedonia Mass Choir, Gaston County Association Mass Choir, Gaston County Choral Union and the Senior Committee.

She graduated from Reid High School, Class of 1963!!  She had many talents and one of which she used every day (people) talking with them, praying for and encouraging them.  She retired from Burlington, Mt. Holly.  She worked at Beltex and then she worked at Homelite, Gastonia, NC where she retired.  She was a great cook and she was known for her pies and custards.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest sister: Roseda Woods, and her oldest brothers: Robert Sanders and John Sanders

She leaves to cherish precious memories; her daughter: Carla Mechelle Sanders, her son: Cedric Sanders, five grandchildren: Cedric Dantaye Sanders, Madisen Nicole Sanders, Rayven Jonee’ Sanders, Simunye’ Zerod Tabor and Jevante Torann Burton; three sisters: Maggie McCray, Marie Houston (Clarence) and Judy Schenck (Earnest); special sister-in-law: Minnie Sanders and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral: Saturday; March 3, 2018; 12 noon; Macedonia Baptist Church-1951 Stanley Lucia Road, Mt. Holly

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church

Interment: Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Holly
