Ms. Teresa Lowe, 62, died February 28, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Beulah Baptist Church in Madison. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Teresa was born November 12, 1955 in Rockingham County to the late Willie Bain and Martha Ann Lowe.  She departed this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her home.  She was a graduate from Madison –Mayodan High School in the Class of 1974. She worked at Washington Mills, Tultex Inc., Brithhaven of Madison and Rouse’s Group during her lifetime.  “Reese”, as she was known by her family and friends was a hard-working, caring giving and a very thoughtful person.  One of Reese’s best traits was that she always lived her life for others.  She was always willing to give to other and to do whatever it took to accomplish what was best for another.  She had the most inspiring love for her family and friends.  She had the most amazing courageous strength and tenacity that every single person whoever met her could feel.  Whoever knocked on her door could expect her to yell out “Who knock” and an open invite to the kitchen to “Eat’em up” as she would say.  Not only did you leave her home full of food but of love and lots of laughter. She went through so much in her lifetime, things that would have broken a lot of people but never Reese.  She carried on gracefully because she knew that she had to be strong for the people who were watching her, her “Boys” and her “Babies”.  We will always remember her as a fighter, a lover, a nurturer and a very resilient woman. Oh, did I fail to mention a wonderful cook.  Her courage, determination and sense of humor is something we will always carry with us and hope that we can display those same characteristics especially in trying time. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary L. Florence and Wanda A. Lowe, one brother, James T. Lowe.  She leaves to cherish her memory: her “Boys”: Antonio Shek Lowe and Derrick Dewitt Lowe, sister; Betty Faye Lowe, brother; Bobby Joe Lowe, her “Babies”; Tre and Kassidy Lowe, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Teresa was a good friend and a very kind, loving person. I first met her when we worked at Tultex together and continued to see her around town in recent years. Love you Ressie!

we're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection. You are also cordially invited to the memorial of Jesus death. The means by which the promise of a paradise is possible.
