Robert Calvin Johnson was born on October 22, 1931, to LB and Leona Danley Johnson on the San Carlos Indian Reservation in Arizona.  He died March 6, 2018, at his home in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.         

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alma Cohorn; his brother, Buster Johnson; and a stillborn sister, Geraldine Johnson. 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Evalon Johnson; sons - Randall Carol Johnson and Robert “Bob” Calvin Johnson, Jr. and wife, Cindy; 7/grandchildren; 13/great-grandchildren; brothers - Dan Johnson and wife, Evelyn, of Alamogordo, NM, and L.B. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Nonie, of Tularosa, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by an uncle, Don Johnson, of Arkansas and an aunt, Alma Johnson, of Arizona.

Robert raised his family in the Hatch Valley and Sierra County area.  He worked 25 years with the Bureau of Reclamation at Elephant Butte Dam as a Power Plant Operator.

In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his horses and roping calves.  He loved spending time with his family camping, fishing and hunting.  Family time was very important to him, and he loved family reunion gatherings.

His desire was to be cremated.  A Memorial Service and inurnment at Caballo Cemetery to be announced at a later date to allow family and friends to pay their respects.
