I went to college with Dre, and we later reconnected in the DC area. He was such a happy and positive spirit and I can't believe that he's not with us anymore. I am so saddened by this loss and my heart goes out to his family. Even though his physical body is not here, I truly believe that his spirit remains close watching over you . . . watching over all of us.

Life has a way of throwing us curve balls, and often the “game” seems so unfair. Loosing “Cub”, in this manner, is one of those unfair curve balls. We’ve been taught not to question God, but at a moment such as this – what else can your broken hearts do? I pray that God will give you peace, that will transcend all understanding, and that your heart and minds will remain on Christ Jesus. Look to the hills, whence cometh your help, my friends. Your help cometh from the Lord. My sincere condolences are offered to you Erika, your daughter, Mary and Pinky – and the entire combined families. I remember that happy little boy, with the curly hair and the million-dollar smile, who use to run up and down the street playing. May God’s mercy grant him eternal rest, in HEAVEN; and that you will see him again – Some Sweet Day…

Ericka, accept our heartfelt sympathy in the recent loss of your dear husband. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Nahum 1:7 Which reads: “Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him.” Yes, our loving God is there for us if we allow him to help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us! You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
