Mr. Shawn L. Lowe, 46, died March 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at United In Christ Ministries in Eden. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

On March 15, 2018, Minister Shawn Leman Lowe was called home to be with the Lord.  He was born on March 16, 1971 in Rockingham County, NC, the first born to Bobby and Ruby Lowe.  He attended Rockingham County High School and later was employed with Wieland Copper Products until his health began to decline.  Shawn was well known for his great sense of humor and positive outlook on life.  He was also an avid sports fan that loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and UNC Tar Heels.  Minister Lowe was baptized by Elder Stevie Lowe and later called into the ministry under the leadership of the late Bishop A. O. Lowe of New Light Temple WOTCC.  He later joined Sharon Baptist Church under Rev. Kenneth Moore.  He procured ministerial duties at Zion Tabernacle of Deliverance under Elder Michael Hairston.  Shawn’s ministry could be described as a “Portable Pulpit”.  Everywhere he went he was preaching the gospel in a way that anyone could receive the message.  Shawn was an awesome family man.  He truly loved his wife, as Christ loved the church.  He had a special bond with his stepdaughter, whom he adored and would do anything for.  He was more than an ordinary uncle to his nieces and nephews and he was also like an older brother to his younger cousins, LaKeisha Bennett and Jessica Bennett-Broady and their children.  His five brothers-in-law and all family he brought an abundance of love, laughter and joy.  His undying love for his siblings, parents and grandmother was evident through his daily routine of phone calls and numerous visits.  The circle of survivors who loved him dearly and will remember him fondly: his wife; Brenda Lowe, stepdaughter; Tykeia Penn both of the home, parents; Bobby and Ruby Lowe of Madison, NC, grandmother; Ruby L. Bennett of Madison, NC, sister; Telisa Lowe of Eden, NC, brother; Jerry Lowe of Reidsville, NC, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
