Gary Cooper Royster, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2018, following a lengthy illness. On July 7, 1935, he was the fifth child born to Earon Brown and Hurley H Royster.

After 36 years of marriage he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine I Austin in 1990;  four siblings, Hurlene, Mable, Wilbert and Hurley H., Jr. Gary was educated in the Duval County School System. He retired after 33 1/2 years with GRAYBAR Electric in 1995. He is survived by and married his childhood friend, Deloris Wilson in July 2002. He also leaves to mourn three children; Angela M. Friall (Kevin), Gary Cooper, Jr (Aimee) and Vantrez L. Royster; two stepdaughters, Pamela Spain (Brian) and Kendra Thomas (Ramon); three grandchildren, Annisha Friall, Alania B and Kyra M. Royster; 6 step-grandchildren, James Porter (Robin), Samuel A. Green (Cidra), Briana, Portland, Ceria and Myah Thomas; sister, Vermeytta A Royster of Los Angeles, CA. Gary had a special love for his brother in law, Kelvin Royland and sisters in law, Helen Royster of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Patricia Royland and Ruth Golden; and beloved friend, Lil Joe Siplin. Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, H.B. Charles Jr., Pastor. 

Viewing will be held at Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00pm at the mortuary and in the church from 9:33 a.m. until the hour of service. Arrangements by: JAMES GRAHAM MORTUARY, INC 3631 Moncrief Road.
