OBITUARY

July 9, 1956 - March 28, 2018
“Do nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with humility consider others superior to you, as you look out not only for your own interest, but also for the interests of others….  Philippians 2:3-4

CAROLYN MARIE TALLEY was born July 9, 1956 in Warrenton, NC to the late George and Louise Hinton Talley.  She was the fourth of seven children.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mattie “Vita” Talley Evans.

She was a graduate of the Park View Senior High, South Hill, VA.

Carolyn was a very patient and loving person.  Care-giving came easily to Carolyn.  Selflessly, she cared for her grandmother, sister, and her father.  She tenderly raised her niece, Tonya and nephew, Corey.  They lived happily in Palmer Springs, VA where she assisted in helping them raise their children, Khalik and Kyeem.

She sought out a career in the healthcare field.  She received a Nurse’s Aide certification from Southside Virginia Community College.  If anyone needed help, Carolyn readily made herself available.  This was just her way, always thinking of others.

Carolyn loved family get togethers, dancing, cooking and good food.  She also enjoyed spending spring, winter, and summer breaks with her great-niece, Mekaiya and great-nephew, Xavier.  She was such a pleasant person and had a way of uplifting others whether it was with words, kind acts or her smile.

Carolyn began a study with Jehovah’s Witnesses which she enjoyed very much.  She was consistent with her study and happily attended the meetings, assemblies, and conventions.  Carolyn was a loving sister, aunt, “Mother-figure,” and friend.

She will be sorely missed.  Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory, a brother- Larry Talley, Norlina, NC; four sisters- Bessie Davis (Nathaniel), District Heights, MD; Patricia Fersner (Alan B), Temple Hills, MD;  Renee Cuthbert (Kenneth), Mitchellville, MD, and Angela Talley, Ft. Washington, MD: nieces- Oveta, Tina, Tonya (Mike), Alisha (Jeffrey); nephews- Michael, Sawanto, Kenneth, Corey, Travis, Denzel, Alan K and a host of family and friends

we're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
