Mr. Willie Ivey was born to Mr. Albert and Mary Ivey and raised by John and Mamie Coates in Milton, Ga.

In 1980, they moved to Jacksonville, Fl after the death of Mamie Coates, Mary walker was overseer of Mr. Ivey. 

He was a member of Powerhouse Ministries, pastor Jessie Brooks.  After the passing of pastor Brooks, Mr. Ivey joined Mt. Moriah H.O.G.S.I.C, Bishop and pastor Lorenzo Moore, where he stayed until passing, April 6, 2018.

Left to cherish Willie’s memories are: cousins, Mary Walker and Shireeka Foster (Ronald), Freddie Sr and Freddie Coats, Jr, Freddie and John Patterson, Lutrelle, Diedra and Charles Eady, Mamie and Louie Williams(Columbus), Loretta Craddock(Dave), Richard Coates (Betty Jean); special friends, Marilyn Peoples, Minister Ricky Ford, Mother Hessie Gamble, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Greene; special cousins, they called their granddaddy-Rashad Flynn, Marcell, Darnell, Benjamin, Michael and Rafferd Wilson. Special thanks to Louis Dinah Center, Park Ridge 2nd Floor Staff, roommate, Mr. Hendrick; host of family and friends.

    Good night sweet Willie. I was honored you called me “buddy.” I love you Willie! You were the sunshine of the Louis Dinah Senior Center!! You lit that building up with your smile, laughter, and especially your loving spirit for dancing!! I will never forget you!! The City of Jacksonville will also never forget your genuine love for music and dancing!! Dance on sweet Willie!! The LOuis Dinah Senior Center will NEVER be the same without YOUR sweet spirit!! Love u Willie!!!!
