Mamie Constance Catus Smith was born in Thomasville NC on July 5, 1924 to Rev. Eli Catus and Daisy Leigh Strong Catus.  She transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the age of 93.  She is survived by four daughters;  Dorothy Smith of Greensboro NC;  Myrtle Ann Crawford (Cortlandt) of Rosedale NY; Daisy Smith of Stoneville NC; Angel Penn of Greensboro NC.  Two sons; John Smith of Durham NC and Rev. Calvin Smith (Tanya) of Winston Salem NC.  19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday 1:00 pm. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Sharon Missionary Baptist Church P.O. Box 750, Stoneville, NC 27048.

    Accept our sincere condolences in your recent loss. May you find some comfort in the words of Psalms 34:18 which reads: " Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit " Yes, we can ask for help and rely on God. He also has made the sure promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
