Charles M. Wolverton (Chuck) passed from mortality to immortality on February 1, 2018 at the Veteran’s Home in Truth or Consequences, NM.

Preceded in death to greet him were his parents, the Reverend Merl F. Wolverton and Lucy E. Wolverton, who in their lifetime had resided in Blissfield, Michigan.  Chuck was born in Ogden Center, Michigan on April 30, 1932 and moved to Hot Springs, NM in 1944. 

Chuck graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1950, and for all that, he always claimed Truth or Consequences, his “home town”.  Nineteen fifty was the year the little town of Hot Springs had its name changed from Hot Springs to Truth or Consequences.  After high school Chuck served at Fort Bliss, Texas with the local Nation Guard, Unit 716th, AAA Gun Battalion, Battery “D.”  After serving with the National Guard, he moved to Denver area, where he resided for fifty-eight years.  That’s where he and his first wife, Joyce, raised their two children, Judy Wolverton now Judy Zachman of Garden City, MO and their son, John Wolverton, of Aurora, CO. 

Chuck is presently survived by his “soul mate”, Corine M. Jay, and her three children, 2 daughters - Shirley L. O’Donnell and Frances M. Jay; and son, Larry Jay.

Cremation has taken place and he requested that his ashes be placed in the Elephant Butte area.  A private family service to be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd., NE, Ste. 300,  Albuquerque, NM 87111.   

As Chuck would always say “Stay Sweet.”
