Myrtle Foy Butler, 87

Myrtle Foy Butler of Quitman passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at John D. Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.  She was born February 3, 1931 in Worth County, Georgia to the late James Sam Foy and Ruby Inez McDonald Foy. She was an insurance underwriter and later in life, a certified nursing   assistant. She was married to Rev. Reginald Henry David Butler of Ocala, Florida, father of her children, James Ronald Butler, deceased and Kevin Butler (Beverly) of Tennessee. 

Along with her son and daughter-in-law, she is survived by two brothers, Jack Foy (Maggie Leverett), Jimmy A. Foy (Janet Wintera), Quitman, GA; two sisters, Hazel Hood (Clint Murphy), Monticello, FL, Carolyn Foy Hawkins (Pat), Quitman, GA; special friend, Buddy Adams, Stark, FL; her Quitman Church of God family and a host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that your gifts be given to the Quitman Church of God or a church or charity of your choice.  The Butler Family thanks the caring and compassionate staff of Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home, Quitman, for caring for them during this time.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at The Evelyn McGhee Center in Quitman with Pastor Gerald officiating. Burial followed in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Quitman.
