Mrs. Annie Givens, 91

Mrs. Annie Givens was born on May 16, 1926 to the late Moton and Maggie Brown in Brooks County, Georgia. She grew up and was educated in the Brooks County School system.

At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and became a member of St. Phillips Baptist Church in Brooks County.  Later in life, she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. There, she became a member of the House of God Keith Dominion.  

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Leroy Givens. Through this union, she gained six loving step-children; one preceding her in death, Jackie Givens-Williams.  She passed from this earthly house on April 3, 2018. 

She leaves to cherish her memories; three loving children: Catherine Davis, Quitman, GA, Randolph Brown and Jacqueline Givens, Valdosta, GA; five step-children: Annetta Givens-Davis, Joyce Givens-Tucker, Sandy Givens, Perry, FL, Omegene Givens-Haynes, Cairo, GA, Leroy Givens, Jr., Gainesville, FL; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one special great granddaughter Kamiatra Williams, Quitman, GA; one adopted grandson, Timothy Simpson, Quitman, GA; one sister Albertha Bright (Parrish), Seffner, FL; step-siblings, Lessie Smith (Marie), Jacksonville, FL, Delois Brown (Andrew), Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elizabeth Mitchell (Joseph), Clifford Ivory (Beulah); two special friends, Howard Barr, Sr.,    Deerfield Beach, FL, Dorothy “Ms. D” Moore, Quitman, GA, Gwendolyn “Mary” Turner, Quitman, GA, John Fleming, Valdosta, GA and Ms. Willie Phillips, Quitman, GA; God-children, Coy “CJ” Miley, Jr., Jacquez Miley and Lisa Gray, a host of relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman with Rev. Godfrey Brown officiating. Burial followed in the North End Cemetery in Quitman. Condolences may be made by visiting  Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
