Mrs. Deborah Ann Simpson, 60

 

Deborah Ann Simpson was born on February 5, 1958 in Miami Dade County, Florida to the late Willie James and Wilma Rhym Godfrey.

 

Deborah attended public school in Miami and graduated from Miami Edison Sr. High School in 1976, then went on to attend Miami-Dade Junior College.

 

Deborah was joined in Holy Matrimony on April 27, 1984 with Gilverd Simpson. Of this union, one daughter was born, Tiffany Simpson Barber.

 

Known to her family as “Dee Dee”, moved from Miami with her family in December of 1990 to Barney, Georgia. She was employed at the Valdosta State Prison the better part of her life.  She loved her family and friends.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories: Husband, Gilverd Simpson; Daughter, Tiffany Simpson-Barber (Adrian); Sisters, Carolyn Mickens, Shellie Finklin (James); Brother, Morris Godfrey, who preceded her in death and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Funeral services were Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Welcome Hope Christian Church in Barney, Georgia with Pastor Jackie Hargrow officiating. Burial followed in the Pineview Cemetery in Morven. Condolences may be made by visiting stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
