MRS. MARY ELIZABETH WHITTLE CLARY, daughter of the late James and Mary Rainey Whittle was born September 21, 1946 in Lunenburg County, VA and departed this life suddenly April 21, 2018 in MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA.

At an early she attended Diamond Grove RZUA Church.  She also attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

Mary was married to Joe Clary on April 16, 1987.  She worked with her parents on the farm for many years and later in the domestic field.

In her spare time she enjoyed canning vegetables, watching TV, talking junk and entertaining family and friends.

Mary leaves to mourn her husband Joe Clary of the home; sister- Shirley Hicks (Bubba Smith), Lawrenceville, VA; four brothers- James Elliott Whittle, South Hill, VA; Otis Rainey, Stoney Creek, VA; George Rainey, South Hill, VA and Kenneth Whittle, Baltimore, MD: brother-in-law, Thomas Hicks, South Hill, VA; five sisters-in-law, Mattie Sue Clary, Virgie Carter, Edna Clary, Nellie (Carl) Liles and Jennie (Frank) Rivers; five brothers-in-law, Ervin (Madlene) Clary, Jr., Peter (Sadie) Clary, Robert (Annie) Clary, John Lee (Arlene) Clary and Calvin Clary (Dollie); aunt-Frances Rainey; nephew and niece she reared, Brandon Whittle (KiKi) of the home and Tiffany Leigh, Raleigh, NC; very devoted friends- Phyllis Winckler, Carnell (Carolyn) Wilson, and Lillie Feggins-Boone.

    Accept our sincere condolences in your recent loss. May you find some comfort in the words of Psalms 34:18 which reads: " Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit " Yes, we can ask for help and rely on God. He also has made the sure promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
