Mr. Charles Anderson Graves, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He is the son of the late C. L. and Jessie Ruth Thompson.  He was a member of Sweetwater C.M.E. Church where he served as Steward.  

He retired from the Merchant Company as a diesel mechanic.  He loved hunting and fishing and fellowship with family.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Sweetwater C.M.E.  Church at 1pm. Interment will be in the Owen Griffith Cemetery.

He is survived by: wife, Elois Graves of Bassfield, MS; sons, Charles Hulon Thompson, Joe Ralph Thompson, Patrick Graves and James Graves all of Bassfield, MS; daughters, Antweatta Graves and Sandra Blackmon both of Bassfield, MS; brother, Gregory Thompson of Bassfield, MS; grandchildren: 19; great-grandchildren: 39

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-6pm and family hour, 6-8pm; visitation 12-1pm, Wednesday at the church.

    We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29).
