Luke Alexander Spivey was born on November 14, 1963 in Fort Pierce, Florida to John Henry Spivey and Grace Mitchell Spivey.

Luke was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida where he graduated from Fort Pierce Westwood High School Class of 1981.  He was employed with Tropicana Products, Inc. until his health failed.  He was a member of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clarence Ingram. 

Luke had a great sense of humor and always made others laugh.  He had a heart of gold and loved his family and friends.  He enjoyed and had a passion for bowling, Little League baseball (coaching for Bennet Construction and Dixon’s), football (a diehard Baltimore Raven’s fan) and fishing.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, Luke closed his eyes peacefully surrounded by family.  He is preceded in death by his Parents; John Henry Spivey and Grace Spivey; Brothers: Johnny Spivey, Ulyses Spivey, Carl Spivey, Laselle Spivey; Sister: Alberta Patterson, Niece: Tonya Washington and Nephew: Willie “Bud” Hammond, III.

Those left to cherish his memories include his Wife: Tina Spivey; Children: Shameka (Jeffrey) Hackett), Jabri Sim, Carlton Celestine, Rollington Cox, Jr., Rodrick Cox, Jada Cox, Roland Cox, Smourya Lami, Anthony Lamb; Pet: Toont Spivey; Sisters: Donna (Willie) Hammond, Gena Spivey, Bernice Spivey; Brothers: Matthew (Sharon) Spivey, Billy Brooks, Anthony (Catherine) Smith; Special Cousin: Walter Mitchell; God Sister: Gwendolyn Banner; Sisters-in-law: Annette Spivey, Terry Dixon, Tammy Long, Tonya Long, Myrtle Rolle Peterson; Brothers-in-law: Sylvester Brown, Jerome Benjamin, Jr., Willie Dallas, Braymon Books; Aunts: Rosa Lee Coley, Genetta Carter, Juanita Thompkins, Dorothy Spivey, Joan Spivey, Minnie (Snuff) Long; Great Aunts: Nellie Jo Spencer and Mary Spencer; Special Friends: Tawanna Cook, Angelia Jackson, Virgil Whitehead, and Darren (Horse) Gore; Nephews and Nieces: Matrecia (Anthony) Phillips, Arvin Washington, Curtis (Sonya) Spivey, Johnna (Michael) Morris, Decreta Meely, LaTonya (Darryl) Cunts, Zelda (Melvin) Wright, Michael Spivey, Leonard Childs, Artura Spivey, Jerome Spivey, Jeronda Benjamin, Charles (Cheryl) Roundtree, LeDravius (Ashley) Roundtree, Levitius (Marissa) Spivey, Crystal Spivey, Melissa Spivey, Keshia (Clinton) Young; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation for Mr. Luke "Coach" Spivey, will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Stone Brothers Funeral Home – Fort Pierce. A Funeral Service will be held on May 5, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at 13th Street Church of God "Greater Faith"- Fort Pierce. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery.

    Although I haven't talked to Luke in a very long time, I am saddened to hear he left us. I worked with Luke for many years and know what a kind heart he had. He would always say , Just Enjoy life Brenda, what great advice. He would talk of his love to just sit st the ball field and watch the kids play. R.IP. Dear Luke
