Sandra Laverne Wheeler, 74, of Eden, NC died May 1, 2018.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018  12:30 p.m.at Sunny Home Missionary Baptist Church, Eden, NC.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m at the church.  Burial will follow at Hamlin Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Ms. Sandra Laverne Wheeler softly closed her eyes, and transitioned to her eternal home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her home. Sandra was born on September 13, 1943 in Rockingham County to Elizabeth Wilkerson and Anderson Wade.  She retired from Unifi in 2013, after working over 30 years.  Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was witty, vibrant, and full of life.  Sandra gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Sunny Home Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: mother, Elizabeth Wilkerson, daughter, Teresa Clark, one brother, Howard Wilkerson, Jr. and two sisters Marian Belinda Wilkerson and Mary Elizabeth Wilkerson. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: father, Anderson Wade, one son, Dillard Martin Jr. (Deborah) of Eden, NC, four sisters, Cathy Clark and Karen Smith (Willie) of Eden, NC, Diane Saunders and Carolyn Stewart of Brooklyn, NY, three grandchildren, Misty Martin of Greensboro, NC, Rykia Clark of Charlotte, NC, and Devon Martin of Greensboro, NC,  one favorite nephew Dr. Illya Wilkerson (Carmen) of Glendale, CA, two nieces Daphne Stewart and   Tracy Stewart of Brooklyn, NY and many other relatives and special friends.

    It is certainly sad that you are mourning the loss of Ms. Sandra. Be assured that our heavenly Father is aware of your pain and soon will act to remedy it. He promises to "swallow up death forever.....and wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) Families can be reunited as our loved ones are restored to life. (Acts 24:15) May you hold on to these promises along with all your happy memories and lean heavily on God, remembering always that He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
