Although I live miles away, pastor was mentoring me through another member of his congregation and he probably did not know it. Our couple of encounters were brief but the Christ in him was so clear to see. He will truly be missed here on this earth but we know he is with Jesus. He ran his race and did it with excellence. Ms. Maddox you and your family are in my prayers. Vicki

To family and friends my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Losing a loved one in death is very painful. Almighty God Jehovah (Psalms 83:18, God's name) promises that he will resurrect millions of people who have died. "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous." Read John 5:28,29 and Acts 24:15. Learn more about Jesus Christ and how he will make God's wonderful promises come true at jw.org. May the God of comfort and tender mercies sustain you during this most difficult time. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (for we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:1-8 Bishop Alonzo Tucker I and Lady Delta Tucker, along with the congregation of Faith Christian Center International would like to offer our deepest condolences for the passing of Pastor Xavier Maddox. Your family and your 24th Street Baptist Church Congregation are in in our prayers.

What can I say! Pastor Maddox and I grew up together we lived in the same neighborhood and went to High School together. I am at a loss of words. Pastor Maddox has been there for me when I lost my father and when I almost lost my father in-law. He prayed with us and gave us comfort and reminded us to look to the hills. He was a special man and I know his family will find comfort in the Lord. God Bless you all.
