Virginia Trujillo Barreras, 84, a lifelong resident of Sierra County, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Virginia was born in Chiz, New Mexico on February 2, 1934 to Donaciano and Seferina Trujillo. She married the love of her life, Eddie P. Barreras, on September 1, 1956. Virginia worked at Carrie Tingley Hospital for 10 years and was a cook at the Truth or Consequences Public Schools for 21 years, until her retirement in 1998. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie P. Barreras and daughter, Marie Barreras. She is survived by her two sons: Lorenzo Barreras and wife Lorna, and Steven Barreras and wife Traci; 4/grandchildren: Mitchel, Dylan, Ariana and Vincent Cruz; 5/great-grandchildren: Nathan Barreras, Dylan Barreras, Bain Barreras, Aiden Cade and Ty Johnson; as well as numerous friends and family. She will be truly missed by all those she leaves behind.

Cremation has taken place and per Virginia’s request no services will be held. She asked that everyone say a prayer for her and remember her as she was.

    Accept our heartfelt sympathy in your recent loss. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Nahum 1:7 Which reads: “Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him.” Yes, our loving God is there for us if we allow him to help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).     Lo siento mucho que están pasendo momentos muy difíciles. Esperó que las palabras de Salmos 46:1 puede dar a ustedes fuerza que se necesita. Dice : "Dios es para nosotros refugio y fuerza, una ayuda que puede hallarse prontamente durante angustias." Que bondadoso esta nuestro Dios. También, el ha hecho la promesa que va a haber una resurección aquí en la tierra cuando sea transformado en un paraíso! (Salmos 37:9-11, 29; Hechos 24:15). Eso no es sólo un sueño, pero algo muy cierto, porque Isaias 55:11 nos asegura que todo lo que Dios dice, se cumple sin falta.
