Mr. Merlin Joseph Patnode passed away peacefully at the New Mexico State Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences, NM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the young age of 85. 

He was born on December 18, 1932 in Moxee City, Washington to Henry J. Patnode and Alma M. Goulet. 
Merlin was a retired SMSGT of the USAF and a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean war eras, serving his country from 1952 to 1979. 

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn K. Patnode; daughter, Pamela A. Bollinger; sons: Merlin M. Patnode, Bryan M. Patnode, Ron P. Patnode, and Daren P. Patnode; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. 

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

    Accept our sincere condolences in your recent loss. May you find some comfort in the words of Psalms 34:18 which reads: " Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit " Yes, we can ask for help and rely on God. He also has made the sure promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
