James H. Smith passed away Friday May 25, 2018 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce.  He was born in Andros Bahamas on April 19, 1933.  He has been a resident of St. Lucie County for over 60 years.

Mr. Smith was employed with General Development as a Supervisor until his retirement.  He was a member of St. Simon Episcopal Church and served as a former Senior Warden and Lay Minister.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Fred Smith, Cecil Smith, Gerth Smith, and Alphonso Smith; and in-laws, Dora Smith, Predenca Smith and Kenneth Dawkins.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, a wife, Carolyn Mackey Smith of Ft. Pierce; sons, James H. (Robin) Smith III, Michael D. (Davery) Smith, Joseph E. (Heather) Smith; daughter, Carolyn Denise Smith; eight grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Howard (Patricia) Smith, Ernest (Angela) Smith all of Nassau Bahamas; sister, Sarah M. Dawkins of Freeport Bahamas; and sister-in-laws, Dora Smith, Sarah Smith both of the Bahamas and Julia Smith of Leesburg, FL.

A visitation will be held Friday June 1, 2018 from 5PM to 7PM immediately followed by a Litany Service at St. Simon Episcopal Church, 1700 Avenue E., Ft. Pierce, FL.  A Funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday June 2, 2018 at St. Simon Episcopal Church.  Burial will follow 3PM at Hillcrest Memorial Garden, 6026 N US Hwy 1, Ft. Pierce, FL.
