If you aren’t willing TO FIGHT for what you believe in, then don’t even ENTER THE RING.

Mr. Santonio Marquis "Poonie" Bivins (30), of Valdosta Georgia - fought the good fight, he finished his race, because he kept the faith.  Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will reward to him -  and not only him, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Santonio,
fought and he won on Friday, June 1, 2018 while at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He has overcome by the blood of the lamb, though he will truly be missed by those who loved him - he’s no longer defeated, but he’s a winner.  Santonio was born on January 22, 1988, and a graduate of The Valdosta City Schools class of 2006 of Valdosta High School. He was an awesome basketball player, in addition to attending South Georgia College and Valdosta State University for 2-years  until he became ill.

Santonio, was a sweet, caring, humbled funny young man who was loved and cherished by many. He loved spending his time playing the PSA-4 and networking on the internet, he was known as The "Twitter King."

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm from the sanctuary of The Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church - 1041/2 Wisenbaker Lane, The Reverend Charles Carr is pastor and will officiate.   Mr. Santonio Bivins, will be laid to rest in The Southview Cemetery, Clay Road - Valdosta Georgia.

Santonio, leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and caring parents: Sharon and Tommie Hayes; his biological father: George Thomas (Ramonia); two loving brothers: Sherrod and Kendrick Hayes; two loving sisters: Protronia Smith and Chamise Thomas; three step brothers: Adam Williams, Marquez Moore, and Dwayne Sanders; three step sisters: Demesha Copeland (Raymond), Shervika Hayes, and Chanel Sanders; a loving and devoted maternal grandmother: Delois Bivins; his paternal grandmother: Allie Thomas; loving and devoted grandfather: Matthew Tooley (Fairie Lee); his aunts, uncles, nephews, a host of caring cousins, extended relatives, friends and all of his AKAB Family.

Don’t think of him as gone away, his journey’s just begun – life holds so man facets, this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from sorrow and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Family, friends, think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing, but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched …. for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.

Express your found memories of Santonio as well as your condolences toward his family online by signing the guestbook.

Mr.Bivins was one of the most positive, loving and courageous men that I was fortunate enough to know. He valued life and appreciated the small sacrifices. He never asked for much, if anything, but he ingrained his influence into any and everyone he encountered. We shared early memories and mutual friends! I appreciate his parents and family for creating such a profound invidual; I extend my condolences for this void to you all, but Santonio Bivins will never EVER be forgotten. I rejoice in knowing that you are no longer in pain. Big Poon is larger than life and his journey will begin anew. Extending Hugs, Love and Blessings to all ~Morgan

We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. May you find strength from the words of Philippians 4:13 which says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
