Obituary

Jacqueline Nutt White was born on April 26, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Velma Maddox Nutt and Horace Nutt. She went on to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, May 30, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Horace Nutt; one sister, Carolyn Nutt Nickerson; and her husband Mitchell White, Sr.   Jackie, as she was affectionately known, was a precocious child with a very inquisitive nature and maturity at an early age.  This often caused adults to address her as “Miss Jackie”

Educated in the public school system of Cincinnati, Jackie graduated from the prestigious Walnut Hills College Preparatory High School.  Walnut Hills consistently ranked academically in the top 50 schools in the United States.  She became the first African American in the history of the school (established in 1895) to have a leading role in a major production.

Spelman College was the college of her choice.  It was at Spelman that she not only earned a B.A. degree with a major and minor in English, but she met her husband of 43 years, Mitchell White, Sr. This union produced one son, Mitchell White, Jr., and one daughter Jacqueline Nicole White. Her greatest joy was being a “hands on” grandmother, which she administered with love and wit. Deeply devoted to her family and friends, she always relied on family values and her faith in God to sustain her.

After graduation, Jackie began a 30 year career in the banking industry. Her 23 years at Suntrust Bank were noted as legendary, as part of the Coca Cola employee benefits management team. Her career took a turn when she decided to accept a position at Southwest Airlines. The 14 years of employment with Southwest gave Jackie and Mitch an opportunity to travel, and added quality time to the remaining years that they shared together.

A proud member of the Friendship Community Church of College Park since 1980. She served with commitment and devotion on the Amiable Usher Ministry. She instilled a foundation of service and devotion in her children and all she came in contact with.

She leaves to cherish her legacy: Son, Mitchell White, Jr.; Daughter Jacqueline Nicole White(Barnabas White, Sr. Son-in-law); Grandchildren, Barnabas White, Jr., Julian White, Carolyn White, and Mackenzie White; Brother, Lenwood Nutt; Nephew, Lenell Nutt (Makeia); Niece, Ronda Nutt, and a host of other family and friends.

My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your loved one. Words cannot express the sorrow you’re feeling at this time. Or the pain your heart will continue to feel as the years pass. I too have lost loved ones and this promise found in God’s Wordy that in the near future, death along with the sting of pain and sorrow will soon be gone forever has brought me so much comfort. I hope this will bring you a measure of comfort too. Isaiah 25:8 - He (God)will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah (God’s name)will wipe away the tears from all faces. May this tract bring you some comfort: http://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/dead-live-again-tract/dead-live-again/

I am sorry for your loss. We have a sure hope of seeing our love ones again, because Jesus said at John 5:28,29 Do not be amazed at this for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.

To family and friends my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Losing a loved one in death is very painful and Almighty God Jehovah (Psalms 83:18;God's name) promises that he will resurrect millions of people who have died. "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous." Read John 5:28,29 and Acts24:15. What a wonderful time that will be when we will see our loved ones again right here on the earth! Learn more about Jesus Christ and how he will make God's wonderful promises come true at jw.org. May the God of comfort and tender mercies sustain you during this most difficult time. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

We are so much affected when we heard of the death of your loved one. Please accept our condolences. Going through something like this will take a toll on your heart for the rest of your life. However, there is comfort that can be gained from looking into the words of comfort that our creator Jehovah God provides in his word the Bible. I will share a few with you. The listed scriptures give us insight as to what will happen in the near future. There are many more that explain why we die and what hope we have. Revelation 21:3-4; Isaiah 65:17 and John 5:29. Mary

I want to give my sincere condolences to the Family. Losing any love one is just devastating! The Bible speaks of a WONDERFUL Time when your love one will literally COME back to LIFE in GOD whose name is JEHOVAH at Psalms 83:18 Paradise HERE on EARTH at John 5:28,29 Also Revelation 21:3-5! Jehovah who cannot LIE at TITUS 1:2 puts HIS reputation on the line in The Holy BIBLE bcz HIS WORDS that are in the Holy Scriptures of the BIBLE are FAITHFUL and TRUE!
