Nashville - June 2, 2018. Survived by sister, Mary Parks; nephew, David Parks; brother-in-law, Mitchell Parks; other relatives and devoted friends, Naomi Washington and Theresa Cleggett. Public visitation on Friday, June 8, 2018, 2-6p at Lewis & Wright. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony on Saturday, June 9 at 10a at St. John AME Church, 1822 Formosa St. Family visitation will follow 10:15a and funeral will begin at 11a. Interment at Historic Greenwood (Main) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gasaway Scholarship Fund c/o St. John AME Church.

    We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29). No, not just a dream, but for a certainty he will do it, for Isaiah 55:11 shows us that everything he says, he accomplishes without fail. You can find out more online at JW.ORG
