         Mrs. Stella L. Lane “Dumpie” was born July 10, 1926 in Gaston County, North Carolina and departed this life Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Courtland Terrance, Gastonia, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late William and Stella Hart.  

She was a lifetime member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Belmont, North Carolina.  She served on various committees and was always willing to work in the church in whatever capacity needed.  She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post #180, the Senior Social Group the Gadda Bouts and Riverside Senior Social Group.    
She attended Reid High School in Belmont, North Carolina.  She worked many years at Dixie Yarns and Duke Energy both in Belmont, North Carolina.  She later retired from Duke Energy.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew H. Lane, Sr.; her daughter, Jacqueline McClean and grandson, Wayne “Tate” McCoy.

She leaves to cherish precious memories five daughters, Sylvia Blackwell of Belmont, N.C., Betty Hunter, Lucy Hart (Herman), Antoinette Gaddy (Joseph) of Charlotte, N.C. and Jessica McClean of Ashville, N.C.; three sons, Andrew Lane, Jr. of Gastonia, N.C., Donald Lane of Belmont, N.C. and James Hart (Tabitha) of Charleston, S.C.; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to funeral.

    We're so sorry you are mourning the loss of your dear loved one. Not much can soothe the pain this sorrow brings, but we hope the words of Psalms 34:18 can help some. It reads: “Psalms 34:18 Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We can rely on our loving God to provide comfort in these troublesome times. He also has made the Surprise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise! (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
