MARY LOU TALLEY, daughter of the late Charlie and Rachel Davis Talley was born July 8, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life July 10, 2018 at her residence, Palmer Springs, VA.

Mary attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.  She joined Penuel RZUA Church where she served as financial clerk and a member of the Hospitality Committee.  She loved her church family.

Mary lent a helping hand to whoever needed it. Her hobby was planting flowers and sharing them with her family and friends.  She loved to take you on a stroll through her yard and show off her beautiful flower gardens; she would call each flower by its name.

Mary retired from Knott’s Pentagon Executive Dining in June 1995 where she received numerous certificates and recognition for her outstanding work.  She received the Spirit of Service award in November 1984, the Golden Cup Award, and a Certificate of Recognition for her ten years of service, just to name a few.

After retiring, Mary moved back to Palmer Springs, VA and continued her work at Penuel RZUA Church until her health declined.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories one sister- Hester Rogers, Lawrenceville, VA; devoted nephews- Rev. Charlie Talley and Rev. George Talley; Devoted caregiver/foster daughter- Costella B. and Fenton Crenshaw, South Hill, VA; foster grandchildren- Keith and Destin Crenshaw; foster great-grandchildren, Jadin, Londyn, and Kennedy Crenshaw; devoted friends- Deacon Clarence and Deaconess Mary Bacon, Deaconess JoAnn and Fletcher Avery; Ada Warren and Mary Spain, and a host other relatives and friends.

We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
