MARY LOU TALLEY, daughter of the late Charlie and Rachel Davis Talley was born July 8, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life July 10, 2018 at her residence, Palmer Springs, VA.
Mary attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. She joined Penuel RZUA Church where she served as financial clerk and a member of the Hospitality Committee. She loved her church family.
Mary lent a helping hand to whoever needed it. Her hobby was planting flowers and sharing them with her family and friends. She loved to take you on a stroll through her yard and show off her beautiful flower gardens; she would call each flower by its name.
Mary retired from Knott’s Pentagon Executive Dining in June 1995 where she received numerous certificates and recognition for her outstanding work. She received the Spirit of Service award in November 1984, the Golden Cup Award, and a Certificate of Recognition for her ten years of service, just to name a few.
After retiring, Mary moved back to Palmer Springs, VA and continued her work at Penuel RZUA Church until her health declined.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories one sister- Hester Rogers, Lawrenceville, VA; devoted nephews- Rev. Charlie Talley and Rev. George Talley; Devoted caregiver/foster daughter- Costella B. and Fenton Crenshaw, South Hill, VA; foster grandchildren- Keith and Destin Crenshaw; foster great-grandchildren, Jadin, Londyn, and Kennedy Crenshaw; devoted friends- Deacon Clarence and Deaconess Mary Bacon, Deaconess JoAnn and Fletcher Avery; Ada Warren and Mary Spain, and a host other relatives and friends.
