Mr. Samuel Henry Blackwell: With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Samuel Henry Blackwell who passed away peacefully on July 19, 2018. Samuel was a deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a man of God who greatly loved his family. Samuel served as a veteran in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Samuel admired great music, books, supported the Atlanta Falcons and spending the time with his family, friends and his dog, Jack. Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Henry Blackwell jr., his mother Phedonia Foster Blackwell his mother-in-law, Valmaire Grant, his brother, James Matthew Blackwell and his nephew, Jamie Blackwell. He is survived by his wife, Velma Blackwell and his daughters, Loranz Mutch, Angelique Andrews, Kamba Banks and Nolita Clark Romero. He is also survived by his brothers; Tommy and Randall Blackwell, his sisters, Patricia Pitts and Glenda Jackson, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Woodstock, GA. Wake will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from the Evelyn Samples Shelton Memorial Chapel of Hanley-Shelton. Interment: Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.

    We're so sorry you are mourning the loss of your dear loved one. Not much can soothe the pain this sorrow brings, but we hope the words of Psalms 34:18 can help some. It reads: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We can rely on our loving God to provide comfort in these troublesome times. He also has made the Surprise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise! (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
