ITS A HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, NONE CAN WALK UP THERE BUT THE PURE IN HEART. ITS A HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, I AM WALKING UP THE KINGS HIGHWAY.

Deacon Edward “Doggie” Williams (84) of Lakeland, Georgia was born July 27, 1934 - He transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

Deacon Williams, received his education in the Lanier County School System. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Georgia Mae Houston Williams, on February 20, 1951. He became Co-Chairmen over The Charles Knight Cemetery, he served over 40 years. 


For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 2 Corinthians 5:1-2

Home-Going Services will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the sanctuary of Southside Baptist Church -  326 South Hwy 221, Lakeland, Georgia.

Pastor Austin DeLoach Jr. - Bishop Otis L. Calhoun will officiate, burial will follow in the Charles Knight Cemetery - Lakeland, Georgia.  

Special thanks is extended toward the staff of South Georgia Medical Center, Lanier County and Valdosta Georgia. In addition to The Langdale Hospice of Valdosta, Georgia.

    We're so sorry you are mourning the loss of your dear loved one. Not much can soothe the pain this sorrow brings, but we hope the words of Psalms 34:18 can help some. It reads: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We can rely on our loving God to provide comfort in these troublesome times. He also has made the Surprise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise! (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
