Katie Mae Greer Bess

Katie Mae Greer Bess passed away at home on Friday, August 17, 2018. She was born on February 19, 1940. She was the mother of Pamela Bess Frank and Bright Bess Jr. Katie attended school at Larose Elementary and was a 1958 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was an active member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

The viewing, prayers and visitation service will be held on Friday, August 24, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 25, at 11 a.m. Both services will be held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 620 Parkrose Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee.

R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. 901-526-3264.

    We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
