Columbus, GA- JoAnn T. Williams 82, of Columbus, Georgia passed Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 1330 Talbotton Road with the Pastor Reverend Terrence Evans, officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC, 1605 3rd Avenue, 706-327-9293. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 1:00PM-6:00PM at the funeral home. Ms Williams was born July 5, 1936 in Harris County, Georgia to the union of the late George and Camilla Alexander Williams. She was a member of Greater Ward Chapel AME Church for over 60 years, retired from Martin Army Community Hospital as a Nurse and a member of the Columbus Pinochle Club. Ms JoAnn leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her son, Walter Henry Harvey, Jr.; her god daughter, Jenifer Nelson; sister, Mable Johnson, Las Vegas, NV; Reginald Jon-Christopher Boykins, Amanda Reaves and a host of relatives in Detroit, MI, cousins, Columbus, Georgia, Harris County, Georgia, Chicago, IL and New York, NY.

May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
