Mrs. Christel A. Jones, age 60 of Marietta, passed on August 26, 2018.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2018 from 7:30-8:30pm in the Evelyn Samples Shelton Memorial Chapel of Hanley-Shelton Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 12 pm from First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. Christel battled cancer for two years, but on August 26, 2018, at 11:30 pm, she quietly slipped away with her husband Elder Essic Jones by her bedside. She leaves to mourn her husband, Elder Essic Jones, two sons, Dion and Deverette Jones, four daughters, Christel Thornton, Desiree Jones, Devonne Peck, Tasha Jones, and a host of relatives.

    We will truly miss her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. She always had a smile when graced in her presence. Thank God we got a chance to meet Sis. Jones (Pastor Essic Jones) along our Christian pathway. The heartfelt memories and love she blessed upon us will linger in our hearts forever. REST IN PEACE AND WE PRAY WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY YOUR STRENGTH IN THE LORD, OUR TRUE FRIEND IN CHRIST, PASTOR ESSIC JONES, WE LOVE YOU AND KEEP IN TOUCH!
