Emmitt B Rodgers, 67 of Memphis, Tennessee died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his residence in Memphis, Tennessee. Born Friday, December 22, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Emmitt Rodgers and Mable Mondane Rodgers. He was a retired Mail Handler for U S Postal Service. Surviving are brothers, Elbert Rodgers, Darryl Rodgers, Patrick Rodgers and Gerald Rodgers, sisters, Shelia Rodgers, Cecelia Woods and Rosalyn Rodgers. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:55 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at R S Lewis Funeral Home Vance Ave Chapel.  

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at R S Lewis & Sons Funeral Home located at 374 Vance Ave Memphis, Tennessee 38126.

Interment will be in West Tennessee Veteran Cemetery, Memphis, TN.

    We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29).
