Services for Sandra Arlene Brooks Jennings were held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church in Durant, MS.

Sandra’s life began on October 10, 1955 in Chicago, IL. Her husband Don Jennings, parents Charlie Hubert Brooks Sr., and Alice Lee Hibbler Brooks, two sisters: Lillian Deneatte and Tearesa Yvonne and five brothers: Bennie Wesley, Charlie Jr., Victor Mature, Larry Darnell, and Donald Miker preceded her in death. 

Sandra confessed her faith in Christ and joined Mt. Calvary M. B. Church under the leadership of Reverend A. L. McClellan. She was a dedicated member until her death.

Sandra began her education in the Holmes County School District at Williams Sullivan Elementary and High school formerly Durant Attendance Center. She was a graduate and Salutatorian of the Class of 1973 and Who’s Who Among America’s High school students. Sandra continued her education at Rust College in Holly Springs, MS with a major in Biology. While attending Rust College she became a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. She continued her studies at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the area of Cyto-technology.

Sandra was united in holy matrimony to the late Don Jennings on February 21, 1981; they had two daughters Iesha and Keshia Jennings, a daughter/niece Allison Brooks Concepcion and a son/nephew Ronald Brooks.

Sandra worked in the Healthcare field in Louisiana and several parts of Mississippi for many years until her health failed.

Sandra transitioned from this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the University Hospital I Lexington, MS. She leaves to cherish her memories her hearts of love Allison Brooks Concepcion, Iesha Jennings, Ronald Brooks, and Keshia Jennings, her Loving grandchildren, Meghan Jennings, Dillon Jennings, Gabrielle Concepcion, and Morgan Jennings, seven godchildren Haratio Keys, Niteria Dennis, JacQuita Gholson, Jerome Heffner Jr., Devin Fitzpatrick, Angela Landfair, Porche Frizell Dixon, one sister, Paulette Brooks, one special and caring sister-in-law, Mattie Martin, a father-in-law, Evis Jennings, six brothers-in-law, Freddie Dozier, Evis Jennings, Jr., Phillip Jennings, Alphonso Brown, Randle Jennings, and Staughton Jennings, two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Coleman and Paula Marshall, two best friends, Gladys Keys and Barbara Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
