Ms. Mayberry's services were held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove M. B. Church

Maxine Jordan-Mayberry was born May 19, 1942 to the late William Autry & Bessie B. Ross Jordan in Lexington, MS. She was the second child of thirteen siblings. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers; Floyd Jordan and Jerry Jordan.

Maxine grew up in Holmes County. Years later, she relocated to Shelby County and obeyed the gospel in 2004 at the Southside Church of Christ where she continued her faith in Christ until her health failed.

In Maxine’s spare time she loved playing the piano and doing on the phone bible studies with her son (Grady). On Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Delta Medical Hospital in Memphis, TN God’s will was done.

Maxine was the mother of seven children. She had one son to precede her in death, Melvin Jordan of Lexington, MS.

Maxine leaves to cherish her memories 6 sons; George L. Jordan of Cinn., OH, John P. Jordan and Micheal T. Mayberry of Lexington, MS, Matthew Mayberry, Grady (PatriciaP Mayberry, Jr. and Tony Mayberry, all of Memphis, TN, 4 brothers; William A. (Roberta) Jordan of Gary, IN, Johnny L. Jordan of Cinn., OH, Louis A. Jordan and Robert L. Jordan of Lexington, MS, and 6 sisters; Alpha M. Murriel of Hattiesburg, MS, Louise Wilkes of Southaven, MS, Floosie Pickens of Chicago, IL, Sandra D. Jordan of Lexington, MS, Diane Jordan and Joann Jordan of Jackson, MS, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
