Mrs. Roberta “Madea” Patton-Crockrell –November 29, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m.
                                                                         West Grove M. B. Church in Lexington, MS

Roberta Patton Crockrell was born on February 20, 1940, in Lexington, MS, to Hillery Joe Patton and Etha Rule Patton. She was the sixth of twelve siblings.

Roberta attended Hickory Springs School in Lexington, MS. Roberta accepted Christ at an early age, and united with West Grove M. B. Church, where she served until God called her home.

On August 10, 1966, she united in holy matrimony with Larthell Crockrell. From this great union nine wonderful girl were born. Roberta spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of her children and other children in the community. Many children have through Roberta’s home; she treated them as if they were her own. If you ever had an encounter with Madea, your life would not be the same. Madea always had a warm smile, soft laughter, and a sharing and caring heart for everyone.

Preceding her in death is her parents, two sisters, three brothers, one great grandchild, and her husband. She leaves to cherish her memories, her nine daughters Annette (L. C.) Fisher of Pickens, MS; DorisJefferson of Kosciusko, MS; First Lady Kay (Rev. Sylvester) James of Lexington, MS, Evangelist Nancy (Henry) Hogsett of Durant, MS, Minnie (J.T.) Waters, Rozella Crockrell, Eathor (Quincy) Bailey, Valencea Crockrell, all of Lexington, MS, Jeanette Crockrell of Kosciusko, MS, one God-son; Jerome (Annie) Johnson of Burleson, TX, thirty-eight grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren, three brothers, Willie J. Patton and J. C. Patton of Lexington, MS, and Nathan (Ann) Patton of Chicago, IL, two sisters; Alma (Willie C.) Cobbins of Lexington, MS, Juanita Crockrell of Lexington, MS, Emma C. Nichols of Chicago, IL, three sisters-in-law; Rosie Neal, Jean (Elder Charles) Jefferson, all of Lexington, MS, one brother-in-law; Robert Lee Crockrell of Lexington, MS, one uncle; Isadore Patton of Chicago, IL, two special friends; Shirlene Garrett and Mae Rule of Lexington, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
