Mrs. Pearlie Mae Silas McGee's funeral services are Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Guiding Light COGIC in Lexington, MS. Rev. Derrick Price officiating.
She will be interred at Old Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in West, MS.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. II Timothy 4: 7-8.
Mother Pearlie Mae Silas McGee was born December 16, 1928 to the union of the late Mary Ann Downer and Fred Silas. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age while attending Old Pilgrim Rest under the leadership of Rev. Anderson. She later joined the House of Faith Full Gospel church under the leadership of Pastor Derrick Price where she served faithfully until her health failed.
In 1953, she was united in Holy matrimony to the late Rev. Ernest McGee, Sr. God blessed this union with 9 children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest McGee, Sr. and her loving parents, Mary Ann and Fred Silas, 5 sisters; Elizabeth Murphy, Annie Mae Meeks, Elanor Spann, Ada Mae Randle, and Rose Marie Ross.
She was an awesome soloist, singing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she was a soldier for Christ, recruiting souls for the Lord. Her favorite flowers, roses, favorite scripture, II Timothy 4: 7-8, favorite songs, You Can’t Hurry God, favorite quote, give it to the Lord and let the Lord work it out.
She leaves to cherish great memories, nine children; Fred Earl McGee (Rietta), Chicago, IL, Evangelist Dorothy Louise Burden, Lynwood, IL, Evangelist Earnestine Meakins, Cedar Rapids, IA, Ernest McGee Jr., and James Wesley McGee, Chicago, IL, Ruth Dean McGee, Waterloo, IL, John Henry (Alice) Memphis, TN, Esther Patton (Colereginald), Lexington, MS and Calvin McGee (Kim), Fort Worth, TX. 1 sisters; Lucille Clark, Durant, MS and 2 brothers; Robert Brown, Memphis, TN and Melvin Silas (JoAnn), Rock Island, IL, 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 3 goddaughters; Tangela Brown, Rosie Hoover, and Betty Ceasar.
I hope I will always be remembered as a sweet, strong, loving woman of God.
