Funeral services for Larry Foster, 80, of Dover, Delaware will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2014 at Doe Pond Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend J.B Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Deacon Larry Foster was born November 11, 1934 in Martin, South Carolina to the late Maggie Carlton and the late Frank Foster. On Sunday morning early, April 26, 2015 the Lord called Deacon Foster to eternal rest.

Deacon Foster moved from Allendale, South Carolina to Harlem, New York in 1952. He worked at Garment Center for 17 years, then 26 years with United States Postal Service in New York City. He served in the United States Army.

He was a member and Deacon of both Mercy Seat Baptist Church and Convent Baptist Church in New York. He was a Deacon of both churches. He married Consuela Frisby on April 26, 1993.

It was God’s providence that brought him and his family to Dover, Delaware in 1998. That is when they became members of Calvary. He also was a member of the Marriage Enrichment of Calvary with his wife.

He was blessed to have friends for 50 years, Joseph and Thelma Milton. He was once married to the late Geraldine Gray.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife, Consuela Foster; two sons: Steven Foster of Far Rockaway, NY and Larry Foster, Jr., of Rocky Mount, NC; one daughter, Yvonne (Tony) Wilson of Rocky Mount, NC; four step-children: Carl (Pat) Foster, Geraldine Jordan, Jacquline Smith and Ellamae (Calvin) Ashby; a god-child, Destina Brantley; a nephew, David Miller; and a host of grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held one prior to the funeral service.
