Funeral services for Bronell Thompson, 71, of 18665 Ehrhardt Road, Olar, SC, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Mt. Joy Holiness Church, with Elder Willie Priester officiating. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Faith Churches Cemetery.

Sis. Bronell Matthews Thompson, daughter of the late Thomas Moses Myers, Jr. and the late Rebecca Matthews was born in Allendale County, South Carolina on March 15, 1945. She departed this life on March 15, 2016.

She attended CV Bing School in Allendale, South Carolina. At an early age she joined New Hope United Methodist Church in Allendale County under the leadership of Reverend Michael Cave. In 1973, she joined the Parson Temple Holiness Church under the leadership of Connie G. Parsons in Brooklyn, New York. She also gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized with the Holy Ghost. In 1979, she joined Mt. Joy Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop J.C. Summers, Sr. until his passing; then under the leadership of Eldress Bertha M. Summers until her passing in 2011 and in 2012, under Elder Willie Priester. She attended church faithfully, was lead choir member of the Missionary Choir, Missionary Band Treasure, and was first bible school teacher until the calling of the Lord.

Sis. Thompson leaves to cherish her fond memories: her five loving daughters: Terry (Donald) Lewis, Vivian B. Myers, Beverly (Alexander) Loadholt and Cynthia D. Thompson all of Fairfax, SC and Christina (Ron) Hernadez of Hampton, SC; nineteen grandchildren she loved with all her heart: Donald (Lisa) Lewis, Jr. of Yemassee, SC, Terrell (Sandy) Lewis, Daniel I. Thompson, Michael A. Thompson, Christopher M. Lewis, Emmanuel D. Roberts, Mandrell Roberts, ManQuel Roberts all of Fairfax, SC; Maurice Heyward, Damian A. Hernandez and Hunter C. Hernandez of Hampton, SC, Takasha A. Thompson, Linda L. Lewis, Roshell V. Loadholt, and She-Ne-qua B. Roberts and Shalonda Summers all of Fairfax, SC and Angelique M. Hernandez of Hampton, SC; thirteen great grandchildren: Ondaja, Ny’Shanti, Qwahtez, Abriana, Jason, Margayshia, Kayden, J’Kwan, Cariannah, Dominic, Ire’lannah, Amir and Daniel, Jr.; two godchildren: Demetrius Parker and J’Kwan Malik Lewis; two sisters: Mary Fredrick and Burnice Stoney; a brother Samuel Murphy; two families she admired: The Hightower Family of Aiken, SC and The Stofer Family of Govan, SC; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

There will be no visitation held at the funeral home on Thursday. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service for public viewing.

Friends may call the residence of her daughter, Cynthia D. Thompson, at 1371 Beaufort Avenue Fairfax, SC or at the funeral home.

    Dear Thompson family, Please accept my sincere condolences in the passing of your dear mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend. With the many prayers, hugs and sympathy from others, you all will get through this very painful time.
