Ronnie G. Averett was born November 21, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to Lena Simmons and Emory Phillips. He was called home to rest on June 10, 2016.

He attended Cusseta Industrial High and Spencer High School, Columbus, Georgia. He furthered his studies at Columbus Technical College, receiving a degree in Heating/Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He received his Bachelors of Arts Degree, Valdosta State University, July 2013.

On November 21, 1980, he married Eddye Easterling. To this union, two children were born.

His Pastoral appointments includes, Brown Chapel and Aim Well AME Churches, Ft. Gaines, Georgia, Wesley Chapel AME, Blakely, Georgia, Grant Chapel AME Church, Moultrie, Georgia (2000-2003), and Bethel AME Church, Quitman, Georgia (2003-2011).

In March 2011, he became CEO/Founder of Calvary Christian Center, Quitman, Georgia. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Eddye Averett; three daughters, Jozette Mosley, Tamara Renee Averett, Anastasia Brown: Son, Jared Emil Averett, Sr.; Grandchildren, Anasis Averett, Cameron Gray, Rodriuna Mikell, Aaliyah Mikell, Alashia Mikell, Jamil Bryant, Kehne Brinson and Jared Emil, Jr.; Sisters, Sharon Lewis and Carolyn Simmons; Brothers, Marvin Averett and Lanny Simmons; Sisters-in-law, Delores Sowell, Lanell Southward and Shirley Jackson; Brothers-in-law, Wallace Easterling, Randolph Easterling, Carl Easterling and Norris Easterling; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service for Rev. Ronnie G. Averett will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:30 PM  at Calvary Christian Center, Quitman, Georgia, Bro. Jared E. Averett, Sr., Officiating.  Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia.

Public Viewing: 1:00-8:00 PM , Friday, June 17, 2016 in the BTW Chapel.

Family Visitation: 5:30-7:00 PM, Friday, June 17, 2016 in the BTW Chapel.

    Words cannot express how deeply sadden I am to have lost my first cousin Ronnie. He was like a brother to me. We grew up together, and he even mentioned to me the last time we spoke how he thought of me as his big brother. R.I.P. I will forever miss him.
