I was shocked with sadness when I found out that Soor., Sis, and Pres. Dottie had passed. What a void in the entire funeral industry has taken especially with our culture. Wow Still shaking from this shock.. But we know as in the business we have been called to do, we all must pass this way, just to reach the other side of the Jordan River. We will miss you as you know that, but will see you again as we too must cross over. But oh to see the face of Jesus and to hear the Master say "Well Done Dottie" is what you have striven for. Take your rest and be blessed your living has not been in vein. You have touched the hands of all you knew now see the Face of God. END, Alpha Pi, Seattle,Wa. J. Thomason,CFSP

To the Hector Family: Dottie will truly be missed for the person she was. She walked gently and spoke softly with words of truth. As a one who grew up in Sandtown 60 years ago, I can say she continued to represent the Community as it was at its best. She stayed in the community, serviced the community and was a resource for the community. I will miss seeing her, as I know you will. But remember that God is merciful!! She did not have a long illness. I will be praying for your strength that I know is deep inside you. It may seem far away right now, but until you can stand on your own God will hold you up. Be Blessed and Comforted by the Holy Spirit! Debra Ogle

To the family, May you find comfort by pouring out your heart to God in prayer because “he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.” (Philippians 4:6, 7) See God's promises to resurrect the dead at Isaiah 26:19, John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:3,4. I'm very sorry for your loss.

As sales manager at ASD - Answering Service for Directors and a licensed funeral director in PA, I spent much time with Dottie working at conventions and conferences. If I ever aspired to be a better FD, I would want to be her. She exceeded such compassion and grace and her passing leaves a huge void in the funeral profession. Not only myself but the staff here at ASD is greatly saddened and will miss Dottie and her lovely and caring voice when speaking to her on the phone. Our prayers are not only with her family but with the staff at Phillips. Heaven has gained a true Angel.

To the family of Dorethea Hector. I am sorry to read about the loss of your loved one. The pain is tremendous even with the passage of time. There are scriptures in the Bible to help provide relief of grief and distress. Please read Ps 65:2 that reads "The Hearer of prayers a source of comfort in times of grief and distress.

We are all eager to see the fulfillment of God's promise to completely remove death, tears, mourning, outcry and pain (Revelation 21:4). I offer my profound sympathy to you, her beloved ones. In the Bible we find comfort as we learn in Psalms chapters 55 and 65 that God listens to our prayers and comforts us as only He can. In John 5:25, 28-29 we have the promise of the resurrection. In Revelation 21:3-4 is God's promise to dry our tears and end all these terrible things that hurt so much.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. There is a very comforting scripture found at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can look forward to a time when death will be done away forever. I hope that this scripture can bring some comfort during this time.
