He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the LORD. “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalms 91: 1-2

Adolphis McKinney, a native of Louisiana, was born on June 231942 to the union of the late Joe and Mary McKinney, Adolphis received his scholastic education at John J. Jefferson with the class of 1961. After high school Adolphis enlisted and served in the United Stated Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force, Adolphis, joined the work force where he remained until he was unable to do so. Outside of work Adolphis was known for his love music as a D.J. and one of the greatest pool shooters that you will ever know. Adolphis was loved by everyone life that he touched.

On May 18, 2016 Adolphis Phillp McKinney, Sr. turned his life over to Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. On May 31, 2016 Adolphis was called home into eternal rest to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, his two brothers, Pat Robertson; J.T. Turner and his sister Martha McKinney.

Memories of Adolphis love, laughter and personal nicknames will be cherished by his five sons, Shelton Fowler of Cincinatti, OH; Jeffrey McKinney of Glendale, CA; Tracy Fowler of Atmore, AL; Bertrand McKinney of Kokomo, MS; Adolphis McKinney Jr. (Quawanna) of Cincinatti, OH; five daughters, Melva Denise McKinney of New Orleans, LA; Barbara Fowlers of Cincinatti, OH; Monica(Alvin)Magee of Columbia, MS; Shelia (Lucien) Kidd of Cincinatti, OH; Jamelia McKinney of Seattle, WA; one brother, Carl McKinney of Hattiesburg, MS; one sister/cousin Ella Rose Lee-Lockwood of Sacramento, CA; one uncle, Jessie Bell of Baton Rouge, LA; 2 sister-in-laws; Doris McKinney of Columbia, MS; Rosa Lee Turner of Baton Rouge, LA; 22 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of in laws, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
