Ajani-Naeem Dia Jenkins, son of Sonja Blankumsee Jenkins and Charles Jenkins, Brother of Rafiah Amirah Jenkins and Asante-Sudani Ade Jenkins, departed this life on Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Ajani attended Lowndes High School, graduating with the class of 2009 and went on to attend Valdosta State University. He was a loving child given to the Jenkins and Blankumsee families. Who tugged on their heart strings as he was being nurtured in their care. Ajani was the third spoke in the Jenkins sibling wheel, who added the perfect roundness needed to make it complete; one who brought zest to living in the family circle of relatives and friends adopted as family. Ajani was an avid reader with books as a constant companion. He was a quiet spirit who resided in the still waters of his own personal inner sanctuary, meditating on the challenges of life with independence of thought. Ajani leaves a legacy of joy-giving to his family, close friends and known associates. He planted deep seeded love in our hearts that will continually flourish as we are reminded of him every day.

Ajani was one who lived up to the profound meaning of his name:
Ajani- meaning Warrior
Naeem- meaning Benevolent
Dia- meaning Champion

Ajani was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie James Blankumsee; three uncles, Mark Blankumsee, Kevin Blankumsee, and Aqueel Hassan; one aunt, Delois Jenkins.

He leaves loving and precious memories of his life with his mother, Sonja Blankumsee Jenkins, Lake Park, GA; his father Charles Jenkins, Valdosta, GA; one sister Rafiah Amirah Jenkins, Columbus, GA; one brother, Asante-Sudani Ade Jenkins, Panama City Beach, FL; his maternal grandmother, Phoenis Blankumsee, Hahira GA; Paternal grandparents, Queen Jenkins, Valdosta, GA and Charles Manning, Jacksonville, FL; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Ajani also leaves loving memories with special friends who he considered his extended family; Dianna, Robert, Sean and Phillip Chartier, Clyattville, GA; Ethan, Josh, Steven, Bryan, Mike, Chelsea, Mariagna and Royce.

Memorial Service for Ajani-Naeem Dia Jenkins will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at River Street Church of Christ, Valdosta, Georgia.

Professional Services entrusted to Blankumsee, Thomas & Wright Funeral Services of Quitman, Georgia.

My sincere sympathy go out to you at this sad time! I can only imagine what you are going through, losing someone so precious so soon. Please be assured that it is because of the sin of Adam and Eve, not God, that we get sick and die (Romans 5:12). Our Loving Creator has arranged through his Son, Jesus, to restore (resurrect) to life "all those in the memorial tombs." (John 5:28) May you be strengthened and comforted by this heartwarming promise from God's Word, the Bible.
