Charles Augustus Chislom age 68

of 329 Ramseur Road, Maiden, NC

transitioned peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016

at Carolinas HealthCare System-Lincoln. He was born in Catawba County, North Carolina on March 28, 1948 to the late William and Lounetta Mitchell Chislom. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his only son, Spence Capororissi Chislom. He worked at Getrag Gears for eighteen years prior to retiring from Catawba County Schools. He was the owner and operator of L & W Lawn care Services for over twenty years. He maintained the grounds for several churches in the community. He was a member of Maiden Chapel Baptist Church where he was a trustee, greeter and usher.


He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Camp Chislom of the home, two daughters, Vontella (Thurman) Dabbs of Cherryville, NC; Phoebe C. Chislom of Maiden, NC; three grandchildren, Kierra Lashay Chislom, Devin Tod Chislom and Caleb Chislom.


Funeral service is Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Maiden Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

    Our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Words alone can not ease the pain when grieving the loss of a love one. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". May God give you and your family comfort in your loving memories and in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29.
